Template 23

Its been one of those days I wished had never happened, or at least that I could do over and make it go better. Blaine worked late tonight as always on Thursdays. I have wound up arguing with Courtney all day long on the importance of keeping her toys put away. I wound up with a migraine from hell. Then my grandmother calls. Shes called an ambulance for my grandfather, he cant breathe. I can hear him in the background fighting, gasping for each and every breath. So I tell her Im on my way, hang up on her. Its really cold outside, Ive been in shorts and a tshirt because its extra warm in the house, Kelsey has on a shirt but nothing else, Courtney has refused to change out of her PJs...so here we are running out in the cold to get to my grandparents house over the hill. We beat the ambulance there by a longshot. Go figure. Hes got his oxygen on but still cant breathe at all. Hes taken his breathing treatments and nothing is helping him catch his breath. The ambulance finally arrives and checks him out, asks him a ton of questions and he cant answer. He stops breathing all together, his eyes get really wide and then close almost completely. They get him on the stretcher and take him out, they work on him in the ambulance for what seems like forever. Finally they start to leave, as soon as they hit the road they hit both sirens and lights. Since its mostly interstate driving to the hospital they almost always only use lights unless its a very close call. By the time they got him to the ER he was already blue and gray according to the doctors. Noone was allowed to see him for a long time. They gave him 4 or 5 breathing treatments in about an hours time. Finally they concluded he has pneumonia. Because hes missing part of his lungs due to surgery many years ago its harder on him than it would be if he had all of his lungs. So the pressure building up was making him unable to breathe. If it had taken just a few more minutes we would probably be planning a funeral. Luckily they got there just in the nick of time and hes now stable and out of ICU, in a regular room. Someone said he was joking around on the way to his room so things are finally looking up. My mom is supposed to meet with his heart surgeon and find out if hes able to withstand another surgery to fix what they couldnt before. If he can make it through surgery then Blaine is going to take him to have it done, no more putting all this stuff off. We are also trying to get him in to see a kidney specialist. Hes just going to have to swallow his pride and let us take care of him. Guess I know where I get my stubborness from lol =)

The next freebie is another template! Its not one of my favorites but is simple enough that alot can be done to it. Hopefully Ill get some time to actually complete something a bit more complex soon! Enjoy!

I will be keeping your grandfather in my thoughts. He sounds like a very strong person, just like his granddaughter.
